Seer, Siri, Sasha
Or you could just go all in and call her Freedom. She can blend in with all the patriotic evangelical Libertys and Glorys. |
Game of Thrones! Isn’t it pronounced like Circe? |
Sha |
Sorry, I have lived in the DMV area my whole life and I have no idea how that’s pronounced. I’m sure it’s a lovely name but most won’t know how to pronounce it. |
Different name. That was Cersei. |
Is it Shira?
|
It's pronounced "sear (like searing meat) sha". I guess CeCe could be a nickname, but would be kind of weird since the name doesn't actually start with "C". And spelling it with an S (SiSi) is just a no. |

I’ve lived in LA, Connecticut, NoVa, and a few places in between, plus a country in Europe (not Ireland) and I have no clue how you pronounce it! |
Have you all considered it's you and not OP living in a bubble? A bubble is not restricted to a geographic location. |
DP and I know how to pronounce it but the previous PPs are right that OP is deluded if she thinks it's a given that everyone will know how to pronounce it. Read the thread. Of course, looking forward to explaining how to pronounce it to people so that they can feel sophisticated by comparison is 80% of the allure for people who name their kids Saorise and Siobhan and Caoimhe. |
I’m from an Irish family (140 years off the boat) in Boston and am still uncertain. Is it Seer-sha? If so, nickname SiSi (see-see). |
OP here, I'm genuinely surprised that people don't know how to pronounce it given how popular the actress Saoirse Ronan is and it's not really an uncommon name in the US anymore.
