My boss wears the same dress 5 days in a row

we don't live in a hot place that would require clothes to "air out" anyway.
I can't get over how judgemental people can be! leave the woman alone!

I don't think I am judgmental, so much as curious. I have already thought it out (thank you) that it's the same as what I'm doing, hygiene wise. But no one else does this here, so I'm interested in it.

OP you do sound judgmental. You ask if it's weird, say it's a "strange habit".

I agree with the PPs who say "who cares?" Really, it doesn't matter.

I think people who call other people judgmental are judgmental.

you can think whatever you want. I have an elderly neighbor that thinks he's Elvis...
unfortunatelly your thought process makes no sense.

I lived in Germany for a year when I was in high school, and noticed that even the really fashionable girls would wear the same outfit three or four days in a row.

I don't see anything wrong with it, although for the favric's sake I wonder if the outfit should be hung to "rest" a day in between wearings.

I had a boss that would wear the same black jeans with holes and stained t-shirt every day for 2 weeks (he only worked 2 weeks out of the month). He spent all his money on fine art and modern furniture for his swanky Santa Monica condo, but not a dime on clothing!

Once you come to think about it, isn't it more weird to put "dirty" stuff back in the closet rather than put it on the chair or the like to put it on the next day?

When I lived in Europe, I noticed that folks did this... they showered every day, but then put the same clothes back on, for a solid week. Is your boss European?

I do agree that this could be the case. My relatives own few items of clothing, but what they do have is exceptional in quality. So at the beginning of the week, they choose an outfit to wear. Unfortunately, my relatives, however, did NOT shower each day.

OP - This was one of the funniest posts I've read in a long time!

thanks!

We try to let it "rest" too, but are likely to throw it in the wash, which is not good for our environment.

Yes, but it's a perception thing. People notice if you wear the same clothes days in a row, and you don't want to stand out that way at work. Whether it's wrong or not to judge people that way, it is how it is.

You have to adapt to certain social norms if you don't want to stand out. Obviously if you don't care, you don't have to adapt, but if you don't want co-workers talking about you, you adapt.

She's the boss and is "high high income" so wearing the same clothes everyday during the week has obviously not held her back! I had a boss that did that but he smelled (it could have been his feet though) and his office smelled like, well like a**, if you could say that is what a** smelled like. He was going through a divorce so there wasn't anyone to help him follow social norms like washing and changing clothes on a daily basis.

DC isn't a hot place? Now, maybe, but what about June-July-August?? I wonder if OP's boss wears the same summer suit for 5 days in a row..

OP, do you think she has some sort of OCD? It sounds like something my aunt used to do, who happens to have OCD.
