What is our new puppy mixed with? (picture)

Wow, his mama is really beautiful. I have no guesses on the breeds, but I’ll be looking for an update when you get the DNA results.

Yeah and she was such a good girl, we fostered her for 2.5 months and she really felt like part of the family. I miss her so much. We were going to keep her instead of one of her puppies, but my husband really wanted to go the puppy route since we would know the puppy's full history and everything he had been exposed to. Our other dog is a rescue, and while we love him to death, there were so many unknown issues we had to work through.

Here she is with all 10 of her puppies! They all looked so different, we think there were probably multiple fathers.

She looks a lot like one of my dogs! His DNA results came back lab, husky, chow (the mom’s black lips and “eyeliner” make me think she has chow or sharpei), Staffordshire terrier.

If you are taking name suggestions: The black and white one on the left looks like a piglet, so I would call him/her Babe.

Their mother looks so noble and soulful and tired. Penelope after Ulysses’s wife, perhaps.

OP here. The mother and all the other puppies have gone to their new homes. The one that we kept is 15 weeks now! That's funny because we did name the mother Penny . For the puppies we went with a Disney theme. We actually kept the name Olaf for ours.

I have no idea but this thread is the best thread in the history of DCUM. More dog pictures please!

For anyone who may be considering fostering a mother dog while she has her puppies, it was a lot of work but so rewarding. It is such a good feeling knowing that we gave these pups the best start possible. If we hadn't taken her in and they couldn't find another foster family, she would have had to give birth in a cage in a high kill shelter somewhere in Tennessee. There is no way all 10 puppies would have survived. I'm happy to answer any questions for those who might be interested in fostering!
