The thing is that they filmed in Oct and he was fired in Dec. It wasn't like they knew until after they did the entire season. The thing I find the most creepy is him talking about his wife and kids. They even showed a happy smiling picture of them all. He is a complete psychopath to have allowed that when he was having his "consensual sexual relationship" with his staffer in August.

Yes!! I found that super creepy too! I feel bad for his wife and kid that this all came out so publicly. Though, I’m assuming she already knew since he got fired.

I feel really badly for his wife and kids. The deception he perpetrated is horrible. I completely fell for the great dad and husband routine he shilled.

I loved Shota's cooking but I was really in Dawn's camp for the win even though she's sh*t for planning & plating. Like, jeez, girl, get your act together!

Anyway I was watching this season's Top Chef avidly albeit intermittently. Now I feel completely let down. They need to do a much better job vetting their contestants. This was a huge fail for the producers imo.

Also, was it just me or did Tom Colicchio look really sick for most of the beginning episodes? At one point he looked positively haggard. I wondered if he had cancer and was undergoing chemo he looked so bad. I did a search online and didn't find anything. By the finale he was looking better but still not healthy.

Not sure why it was creepy. He was cheating on his wife. She didn’t know. He went on tv. It would be weird to never discuss your family. All contestants discuss their backgrounds and families. Dishonest? Yep. Creepy? No.

Lol yes, Tom looked absolutely terrible. I chalked it up to just an awful, exhausting year for people in the food industry. I hope he’s not sick!

Seriously! I was almost shouting at the tv. To have that level of talent but not the time-management skills…disappointing.

Pretty sure they only take the meal in front of them into consideration. It can be true that Shota’s performance was better all season, but Gabe cooked a slightly better finale mea.

That's not necessarily true. However, even interpreting the available facts in the light most favorable to Gabe, this is why you don't have a covert sexual relationship with an employee you supervise.

This is a reality TV show. The category is not known for people who live piously or even respectfully toward others! He won. It absolutely should not be stripped from him. He paid consequences for what he did, and what’s done is done.

Affairs aren’t the problem…it’s the sexual harassment, especially of employees. Mike Isabella comes to mind.

This is why you do not date(or whatever these two were doing) at work. This guy is super stupid to do anything with someone at work. There is a conflict between the restaurantthat fired him statement and his statement. Something about repeatedly violating the rules.
