And for us, it was a location/move thing. |
This is a dumb post. |
| Lose what you paid. If you paid full season, then you’re screwed. No understanding clubs or coaches out there. |
Original OP, we accepted the offer for the first team because this year we thought we would be getting another coach. Last years coach was horrible. There was no development, no commitment to attend practices or games from team members and moral was down. We stuck this out for 2 years, and DOC never did anything about it or address the parents complaints about this coach. So, this year we tried out with one of the clubs in the area; and my son made it on the ECNL team. We didn't get the notice until last night. We also found out last week, that we will be staying with the same coach if we stayed with the club. Hope that helps you understand why we are trying to back out. |
We paid in full and the teams are pretty much equivalent, just different styles of play. He's just scared to try something new, I think. |
| Read your contract, then talk to the coach and club. |
| The coaching issue is a real one. I'm Team OP. We left a club we liked because of the coach. Didn't think the coach was horrible just not very good and morale was not good. |
Yeah, expect to lose the deposit you've already made, but you won't be on the hook for the rest of it. The club can easily recoup its lost revenue through many different ways, such as by bumping up a lower team player and filling that lower team slot with another player who wants to sign up. In fact, unless there's some sort of liquidated damages clause in the contract (and likely even then) the club has an obligation to mitigate damages, such as by accepting applications for players who want to join late, etc. While some might criticize this as sharp practice on behalf of the player, I agree that this problem is the fault of the clubs all staggering their tryouts at different times, giving parents very little time to make a decision, and not releasing all the details (e.g. practice schedules/locations) ahead of time. So don't feel bad for the clubs. |
The coaches at BRYC are just as bad your better off staying at the old club. |
Bruh, you done effed up. Live with the consequences.
|
| They want their money and they don't want bad press/bad parents. Eat the loss of what you paid, should be fine. |
You should realize in this situation you are way down their list. Either you are getting an offer someone else declined or they figured out a way to over roster a little more. |
If you're unhappy with the current and you're only losing deposit, jump ship. |
| CLUBS are trying to re-coop their losses from COVID. I hope you are able to back out without any repercussions because now more then ever its about the MONEY and not the kids. |
Some clubs never lost a dime. Loudoun for instance actually CAME UP and nobody explains certain vehicles purchases some directors like to show off at LSP - I do know an investigation is brewing with the sheriffs office though |
