Super Y why

Be prepared for A team players to be in excited when D team loses in last minutes. Other than that it can be fun. And hot

OMG you are an elitist twit.

I don’t get the Super Y bashing. If your player doesn’t want to play in a league with teams comprised of players from across the talent spectrum, in summer weather, then just don’t play.

At a minimum, I’m hoping that the summer games will be at least as good as playing pickup soccer with kids in the park, which is almost impossible to find for most kids in our area.

You should probably just take your kid to the National Team Tryouts. Clearly this is the only suitable competition.

WRONG.

We're in Spain now, doing trials at Real Madrid. The question is really whether or not they can meet the wage bill.

It's super hot. The competition is mixed and there's no time for rest and try other sports.

So don't play in the Super Y league. I still don't understand the reason for bashing it. Also, not sure what kids are actually trying other sports during the summer -- what other sports are running league play during the summer? Swimming, yeah, but that's usually something parents sign their kids up for at the pool to keep them busy. Rest? Is that word even in a 9 year old's vocabulary lol ...

My 9 year old is so excited to play. Our team is a mixture of A/B/C team players , its with a top coach that he normally does not train with and he is not interested in any other sport ( aside from swimming as pp above said).

Wow, you know nothing about swimming around here. If you think soccer is competitive and crazy...

No, it's for profit. If game is a huge part of development, and kids don't play equal playing time, why are rates the same for all players? And then clubs can tell players "Hey, play for our Super Y League... for more money! "

If it don't make dollars then it don't make sense.

no. But mine gets more out of basketball camp 9-3 and some really great soccer camps 9-3. Summer basket ball league on weekends. Leaves little time for practices and games. I feel basketball really helps develop soccer players as cross-training when they are little.

keeping your fitness up in 90 degree heat (on turf +15 degrees with humidity, so 100-105 sounds like a great idea)

True hoopers put in way more hours than soccer players. Its just easier to find a game or just a hoop to practice on.
