What makes you think she was promoted?

Her letter came at 5:00pm today. Mrs. Heckert said she has been offered another leadership position in MCPS.

Given all the hate incidents in the school during her tenure, I doubt that it’s a promotion. A lateral move would be equally odd given the timing of the announcement. If MCPS is promoting her, what about all the Ph.Ds in the school system that have better leadership qualities? Mrs. Heckert leaves a trail of broken promises to the community in her wake.

All you have to do is a Google search for Winston Churchill High School and you can see what her legacy is: hate incidents and drug overdoses on school grounds. No real follow through to fix anything.

Op seemed to have inside knowledge that Mrs. Heckert was leaving before the official announcement was sent out. Perhaps Op can share what position in MCPS Mrs. Heckert will have next year. Really odd that Mrs. Heckert’s letter didn’t say.

It’s hard to know why she is leaving because her letter was so vague. Graduation was just last Friday and there was no public statement before today that she was leaving.

FYI Assistant Principal is much different than being Principal. Just ask staff what her leadership style was like.
