Where can I find the smallest tampon on earth?

DD12 has been using Tampax Pocket Pearl. It’s small with an applicator.

Is she putting it in far enough? She needs to make sure it’s high up in there.

Playtex with the plastic applicator.

They don’t have an applicator though, and the actually cotton part isn’t any smaller. Sticking it in with a finger might be hard for a teen

I actually think it's much easier but obviously up to her.

I think it is definitely initially awkward for anyone, but I find it much less painful than, for exaple, the old school cardboard tampax applicators we have in our office. The smallest OB are pretty tiny.

Really? I find sticking dry cotton up there not at all comfortable, especially if you are not on a heavy flow day. The plastic applicator glides in smoothly no matter the flow, but you can always put a little vaseline or lube on the applicator it to help it along if she says there is resistance

IME it doesn’t really feel like dry cotton. The OB ones are coated with something that makes them fairly smooth. Much more comfortable than plastic applicators.

Thank you to everyone for the suggestions and insights. I did just buy her a period-proof bathing suit online, but she is worried that it will leak nonetheless.

Those are quite long. I'd try a disc or something a bit shorter, like a teen/soft Saalt or Cora cup. Takes a bit of practice but really excellent.

Tampax Pearl Light is pretty small and the applicator is super smooth. I think Tampax Sport is pretty small too?

My dad was able to do it only after lying on a towel on her bed.

Also, I think girls tend to think it’s straight up into your body. It really goes at a 45 degree angle, so what helped me was someone telling me to aim toward my spine as I do it.

The smaller the better and with Vaseline might help too.

I didn’t know there was period swimwear but definitely use that if it exists!

NO.

Double NO. I could never even get the thing (small size) inserted it was so big. Way more uncomfortable than a tiny tampon.

The playtex sport tampons have a sort of flange to hold on to while inserting and it is also helpful to know how far in it should go. My dd struggled to insert far enough.

The period swimsuits are good.

Please do not put Vaseline in the vagina. It’s known to breed yeast, bacteria and cause infection. It’s ok topically but not inserted.
