| DD12 has been using Tampax Pocket Pearl. It’s small with an applicator. |
| Is she putting it in far enough? She needs to make sure it’s high up in there. |
| Playtex with the plastic applicator. |
IME it doesn’t really feel like dry cotton. The OB ones are coated with something that makes them fairly smooth. Much more comfortable than plastic applicators. |
| Thank you to everyone for the suggestions and insights. I did just buy her a period-proof bathing suit online, but she is worried that it will leak nonetheless. |
Those are quite long. I'd try a disc or something a bit shorter, like a teen/soft Saalt or Cora cup. Takes a bit of practice but really excellent. |
| Tampax Pearl Light is pretty small and the applicator is super smooth. I think Tampax Sport is pretty small too? |
|
My dad was able to do it only after lying on a towel on her bed.
Also, I think girls tend to think it’s straight up into your body. It really goes at a 45 degree angle, so what helped me was someone telling me to aim toward my spine as I do it. The smaller the better and with Vaseline might help too. I didn’t know there was period swimwear but definitely use that if it exists! |
| Dear Daughter, NOT Dad!!!! |
NP. I thought so, but was mighty glad to see the correction!
|
| Bahaha, thread spoiler. I’m cracking up over here!!! 😂 |
NO. |
Double NO. I could never even get the thing (small size) inserted it was so big. Way more uncomfortable than a tiny tampon. |
|
The playtex sport tampons have a sort of flange to hold on to while inserting and it is also helpful to know how far in it should go. My dd struggled to insert far enough.
The period swimsuits are good. |
Please do not put Vaseline in the vagina. It’s known to breed yeast, bacteria and cause infection. It’s ok topically but not inserted. |
