Distance Learning is not fair and penalizes everyone. Standardized tests are all we have this year. |
What a jerk. |
Make other people rich! Make other people rich! |
| It’s a stupid statement unless you know the test scores of the kids that didn’t Submit test scores. It’s only a valance statistical analysis if you compare like groups of people. |
If all you have is one year of your kids life I feel really sad for your kid |
This. On both counts. |
And in an "ordinary year" where tests were required, would that same 28% of admits been accepted? |
Luckily that won't be true this year, as it much easier to get a seat. These schools want to see the test, Only 8% of Georgetown's new class is test optional. 8%!!! |
|
This should be obvious to the school admission officials. Those who do not submit test scores are those who do not have good test scores. Regardless one submits test scores or not, the applicant has most likely taken the test because many other schools still require test scores, especially some of those decent schools.

They know that. They just believe students can be successful even if they don’t have high test scores (for whatever reason and there are many). The schools want to have the ability to admit these students that they find interesting for whatever reason without having their lower test scores drag down the school’s average. I think if you look at schools that were test optional prior to Covid, you will see that they do well. Test optional has not dragged these schools down. |
You know what they should do? Put a ton of really good, free SAT/ACT resources online so those who are economically disadvantaged can put in a ton of prep and practice. |
Shhh! Don’t wreck their argument! 🙄 |
| But they do. |
