I thought it was weird that they went to Physician’s assistants for a lot of issues recently. |
I ended up at the practice 5 years ago because my previous doctor went concierge. I got an appointment with one of the few doctors who was taking new patients. Ok doctor but not with $1800 a year. The practice definitely had issues. There was always a super long wait in the waiting room for appointments. |
| Any advice on transferring records to a new dr? |
| Can someone explain how concierge works? |
| For those looking, I moved from PPA to John’s Hopkins Community Physicians a few years ago and have been really happy. I go to the office in North Bethesda n Exec Blvd but I think there are others around, too. I moved when my PPA doc retired with no notice to me, and then a huge hassle when I tried to make an appt once he had gone. I was never impressed with their office administration, but that experience was really bad. I would never pay more to deal with them! |
| So, to be clear, the Chevy Chase office, too? They just invested in a new patient portal. I didn’t see anything in the website and I didn’t get an email. |
|
Anyone know the pricing? I got the email too, but no mention of costs. My doctor at PPA moved to SignatureMD it appears.
I guess they realize people in the Bethesda/Potomac area are willing to pay. Well, probably not me as I'm in my 40s and only see the doctor once a year for a physical. |
| Yes to Chevy Chase and $1,800 annually for SignatureMD (with 3% increased every year.) |
Sounds like a scam. The whole practice suddenly liquidating? Do the owners run Signature? Did they figure out they could make a ton more money this way? Is it why they started having patients see PA’s increasingly? To incentivize joining their concierge service? |

Many of the doctors at the Chevy Chase location will be switching to One Medical (in the same location).
If you call the office or One Medical, they will tell you that the only change is an additional $199 annual membership fee, everything else should remain the same. |
I'm looking for a new practice as well. Who do you see at Johns Hopkins? How is the office, the practitioner etc.? Community Physicians always made me think it was some kind of extension of JH into underserved markets but I guess not if they have a North Bethesda office. |
| Wow. I haven't received an email. My doctor was ok. Oh well. |
| Ah bummer, I need a new PCP and DH has been happy there so was thinking about going there as well. Guess not! Also would love to hear about other PCP recs in bethesda/Silver SPring/Rockville area.... |
Ugh! I knew (from getting voice mail message and mail) that our doctor at PPA Chevy Chase (who we love, BTW) is moving to MDVIP. It doesn't make sense for us to pay $1800 per year to stay with him, and I also didn't realize the whole practice was dissolving

Same. No email. Dr. just okay... |
