That’s when playing travel meant you could play in college if you wanted. Now all it takes is Daddy’s $$. |
| What, specifically, is the league rule that prevents this double rostering? |
One example is a girl who plays for the U15 Solar ECNL team and U15 Michigan Jaguars GA team. This girl is currently ranked #4 overall in the TopDrawerSoccer rankings. If you look at this player's social media and the social media from either club you'll see that both clubs are claiming this player. At any rate, I just figured there was some rules within ECNL and/or GA that would prohibit something like this from happening. |
What is your fascination with Solar? |
Typically carding. |
No fascination with Solar. ECNL and GA actually have re-tweeted things from these respective clubs and I noticed the same girl being mentioned. A little sleuthing revealed it is indeed the same girl playing for two different clubs in two different states. |
This was mid-late seventies. I grew up in a much smaller area than NOVA. I'm sure bigger cities had all of that. We didn't. We played on dirt or 6" grass. Didn't matter. Some fields had both. |
| was your coach Rodney Dangerfield? |
Ahhh. Know who you’re talking about. They’re probably using the discovery player loophole. |
| And if my memory serves me correct and we are talking about the same player (former VA resident), she lives in a state that doesn’t have ECNL or GA so they probably made special arrangements for her to guest play.she is a YNT rostered player after all. |
Except no one is calling anyone out here. No one. |
Are you telling me there is a girl who was trained in this area that now plays for teams in both Texas and Michigan? |
So you're saying a highly touted player thinks it's worth while playing for a team that is in the GA? |
Its very common in AAU Basketball. There are many from lets say DMV area that fly out for games and tournaments for AAU teams in LA and other places across the country every weekend or every few weeks. |
Who said Michigan? |
