ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Im confused who does this partnership help? Do the better players go to Herndon from Metro? Or vice versa? |
The alliance doesn’t help. Every club in NOVA has access to the exact same player pool. Kids and families can go wherever they want. Tryouts are every year and kids and families can go wherever they like. |
Right - the whole thing is a joke. If you are at HYS, it’s not like you didn’t realize that Metro is out there and you could go tryout if you cared to. |
+1 If your DC is talented they can go to any team they want, they dont necessarily have to go to Metro just because you're a HYS player. Metro will still lose most players only B and C team players will go through the pipleline while better GFR, HYS, etc players will go to the team they prefer. Metro still thinks they are a elite club because of GA status. |

Partnerships just make everything complicated with practice schedules, coaching, roster turnover, kids getting juggled mid season, big rosters, finances, communication... etc. All this is really hard for clubs. Metro is struggling so they feel like they don’t have a choice. Mclean too. Chantilly/SYA too. Buyer beware. It’s going to be a mess. I’d give props to some clubs that haven’t made teamed up (BRYC) but I know the reason is that every club in town has turned them down. |
There are quite a few kids at Herndon who either played for Metro and switched to Herndon or rejected Metro outright and went to Herndon. This arrangement is essentially Metro staff trying to fish for players. One might see it as desperation. |

| Mid sized clubs like Herndon and Metro are getting squeezed by the giants and forced to band together. It’s not likely to work and there will likely be 1 giant club in each region like Arlington, Loudoun. The rest will struggle to compete (financially and on the soccer field) or need to find their niche |
Herndon was fine as they were, but their longtime director retired and the Board decided to shake things up. Hired Andrulis, trying to kick Total Futbol to the curb and made this mish-mash of partnerships. We’ll see how it plays out, but it might be a trifecta of bad decisions. |
| Folks, there is no benefit for a strong Herndon player to move to Metro under the current arrangement. First, Metro is not on the same level as Herndon's elite teams. Second, as long as TF is affiliated with HYS, player will have exposure to McLean. Why would you pass an opportunity at McLean to play for a club and league which might not survive through the end of the season. |

| maybe herndon should just merge with great falls reston. |
