How "Woke" is Congressional vs. Langley?

Is your “all lives matter” sign still in your yard?

What's wrong with MLK?

Yes, right next to the tiki torches and flag stolen from the Capitol Bldg.

I see appropriately eye-rolling replies on an eye-rolling question about wokeness. Calm down and take it with a grain of salt.

Identity politics being taught at achool social studies, literature, history via oppressed/revisionalism, promoting activism.

BLM turned into a political movement last year. And we all want only one view and political movement taught in k-12 education, right?!?

Woke at teacher at Congo had girls dressed up in antebellum slave owner dresses on her Twitter denoting it as a little civil war fun dress up before our photo shoot. So... I think the answer is not very. My friend from church has a child in a wheelchair that wanted to go to camp there because apparently they do have a wonderful summer camp , and when they said they were accessible they neglected to mention the stairs apparently have one of those old lady stair chairs for people versus an elevator. Not a good look.

There is no way this is true. Schools have to have elevators — and certainly even a school with a reputation like Congressional is devoted enough to basic inclusion that an elevator would be par for the course in 2021. Sounds like you or your neighbor have an ax to grind. Maybe the elevator was just broken that day or they could not find it.

There is not an elevator. This is a sad fact.

Wait... seriously? There’s no elevator? What in the world? So they just don’t accept kids that need accessible facilities? Please tell me the bathrooms are at least ADA compliment? So I guess Congo is woke until you’re in a wheelchair.
Anonymous
Troll on Congressional right now - I wouldn’t believe anything written on this site or anything written that is claimed by a parent.

Wait so is the troll lying? Is there actually an elevator? That’s a weird lie...

Can anyone confirm?
Anonymous
There is no elevator. There is a chair lift. The building is somewhere around 60 years old.
Anonymous
It’s a chairlift that requires someone be able to independently maintain their own posture and have assistance transferring in and out. It is a seat style one. There is no way to get a wheelchair up and down- only the person.

The pendulum will swing back to the inclusionary politics of MLK and Gandhi.

My sense is that there is a huge market these days for school options that aren't 'woke'. Some smart school will jimp on that and own it...
