Does IF work if you don't do it every day?

You keep showing up on multiple threads saying this yet provide supporting documentation to support these assertions. Put up or shut up.

Isn't IF how our bodies evolved to eat? It wasn't like hunter-gatherers had a constant stream of available food. When it was available, they ate it.

I do IF on weekdays only. Weekends consist of long activities that will require calories before hand. Still seeing results

I have lost 12 lbs in the past 5 weeks with IF. It is easy for me and I feel like I could keep it up forever with some cheat days sprinkled in. It is way easier than counting calories or eating only specific foods, etc. Basically I just hold off on eating til noon (never liked breakfast anyway) and eat my last meal before 6. I drink a lot of tea when not eating.

If you sick without breakfast - you can still do IF, just stop eating about 5-6 pm. Water/herbal tea after that. Small, protein snack if really hungry - 4 oz of plain yogurt (I add dash of cinnamon or unsweetened coco powder), an egg, half a cup of bouillon or plain kefir. Not eating for several hours before going to bed is good for losing weight.

If you were to eat a tiny bit less three days per week, would you lose weight?
If you counted calories yes, and it would be slow-moving on the scale.
In reality, you would wait for the eating hours and eat more than you might normally.

IF doesn’t work if you don’t reduce calories. IF might help you eat less since you skip one meal.

Look at Dave Asprey and the bulletproof method. In addition to ideas to help making your fast less painful, he likes the idea of not doing it all the time and training your body to function optimally through different eating patterns. Likely not as quick for weight loss but I like the ideas for overall health (and some weightloss as I find doing IF on my cardio workout days and not on my strength days gives me fuel for workouts but also eeks out just enough caloric deficit over the week to slowly lose)
