Catherine is presumably the "right" way, although mine is spelled Kathryn.
People almost never spell it right. Kath-Ryn. That's it. Not an extra "e" or an extra "i". It bugs me but technically, mine is a made up spelling. Don't ask me to source that. Just for God's sake, don't name your baby Kaitlyn. All Kathryn's hate that name. |
a la Hepburn and Graham |
I prefer Kate or Wren/Rine to either. |
Rine? |
+1 In English, the letters K and Y can be a bit “takkyy”. There’re plenty of exceptions, and Katherine is ok, but I still think that C looks... cleaner. |
| Kathryn for the win. |
| Catherine. If it’s good enough for the future queen of England it’s good enough for me. |
| I'm a Kathryn and I don't love the y. |
| I like Catherine. And you can still use the nickname Kate, if you like. The Duchess of Cambridge does it, and no one calls her out on it. |
It's interesting that her name is Catherine (which I heard she prefers and goes by in her real life) and her nickname is Kate. |
Katherine. I hate the C. Someone in our family spells it with a C and she is terrible. I don't like Kath AR ine or Cath AR ine or any or the other spellings. |
| Katherine with a K is so much more alluring than Catherine with a C. A C always looks so smug. |
1980s are calling. Y's are out. |
| I like Catherine and Katharine equally, and prefer both to Catharine or Katherine. |
| Katarina. |
