That's interesting b/c my neighbor's dc is a 9th grader and was told there was no room to switch to in-person because all her classes were full.

It depends on the school but also, your neighbor was told back in the fall they couldn’t switch in. So the school may be just saying that it’s full because she’s not going to be allowed to circumvent policy at her whim.

Right. Chances of the PPs being at the same school are slim.

Classes may start small but grow with time.... in person is worth it.

My kids say it’s been a steady migration towards more DL kids in their middle school classes. But anecdotal based on class discussions.

I push in to two classes. One has 13, the other 6

They can’t start small and grow with time unless families are allowed to re select for Q4. Right now they could only get smaller because you can switch back to DL.

My MS daughter says all the girls she knows are staying virtual and all the boys are going back. She's worried she'll be the only girl in her classes in APS.

Ha! I’m a teacher and I was just telling my husband last night most of my students returning are girls. I have several sections where it’ll be me and 2-3 girls. Gonna be pretty cute.

LCPS Teacher- I just don't want to get anyone else sick. I don't want to get Jane mom or BOB grand[parents sick. It really sucks that we have to go back. I told my 6th graders life is not worth rushing and we shouldn't rush anything and talked to them how school board rush into reopening. there still 1,000 cases a day and we not sure how well vaccine works so yah it won't be easy..

Yes it’s them. It’s probably the same person who kept claiming snow days were taking off from their maternity leave. They say nonsense designed to rile people up.

Not sure how well the vaccine works is one of the most B. S. comments I have ever heard. The data is staggeringly good. Real world effectiveness is as good as clinical trials across ALL populations (besides kids, since we aren't vaccinating them, we don't know) and the vaccine prevents transmission almost as well as it prevents disease. Vaccine misinformation drives me crazy.

New poster. Very pro-vaccine. Trying very hard to get my first shot (1B). However, there is a range of efficacy that we just don’t know because none of the vaccines were tested on those populations. People with illnesses like mine were excluded from the trials, but my district says I should be fine to return to the classroom. My doctor disagrees. She treats a number of teachers with the same condition in the DMV and says only my district is not granting them ADA accommodations. She’s prepared to say I can’t work at all.

APS elem teacher. At my school it varies by class and grade. My class has 15 hybrid and 3 virtual. Some others have 8 hybrid and 11 virtual. Just depends.

My FCPS ES child's principal refuses to tell families how many kids will be in person vs virtual. I mean, we'll figure it out, but WTF?

Probably because there is some fluctuation in numbers and probably because it's not really a priority and you will find out sooner or later.
