I suspect it'll be two models - one for teachers in person, another with teachers on ADA. |
Our schools plan is to reopen to ensure maximum spread of COVID to the community. |
I think it has to be up to the principals. Different schools have different needs. Staff needs, plus the number of families opting for in person. Also, how many classrooms and how many aides are available. |
FACT--the MCPS communication on 2/9 was basically full of untruths. There will not be extra time for reteaching, social groups, and extra interventions. Unless the school is choosing to reassign students to different teachers, one teacher will be responsible for teaching a class of both in person and virtual students at the same time. That said, some grade levels may have chosen different models than other grade levels within the same school. Or, all the grade levels may have chosen the same model. |
ADA had nothing to do with it. my principal picked virtual support for the entire school because parents didn't want to have their children change teachers. I try to argue with her that we could try and do simultaneous/concurrent and I've slowly been able to try and convince her that it's possible initially she was convinced it wasn't possible |
The only time I can think of for reteaching or small groups is during the 90-minute wellness break or if you're in secondary the hour or hour and a half that you're going to be sitting around in school before virtual learning begins |
No balls at recess and kids have to stay six feet apart. MCPS requirement. |
LOL! ![]() |
Well, obviously. We know MCPS has no balls. |
Okay, this made me LOL! So true and thanks for the laugh. ![]() |
I teach in an elementary. Principal still has not shared the plan with our staff. It was pretty clear when we met last week that they did not have a plan. |
Nothing from Potomac ES |
Tough to plan when MCPS keeps changing expectations. ![]() |
Good, we do need maximum learning by students. |
You're barking up the wrong tree. You should be chasing down the people going to restaurants and gyms and all other things that are much less important than school. I was waiting in my car for takeout this weekend and watched no less than 50 people going in and out of the restaurant. |
