What’s your elementary school plan?

We received an email from the principal today saying that teachers will be on zoom and kids will be in the classroom with a monitor. All interventions, ESOL, etc will be virtual.

We didn’t receive anything- just the normal Sunday night message.

Will the teachers be in the classroom? What was said about recess? I know there won’t be enough monitors for every classroom.

On Sunday day I got an email that showed the percentage of remaining virtual and return to school votes from the parent survey for our school. The teacher sent an email and asked if anyone who originally opted for DL would like to return to the classroom, instead. However, there was no further information on how class for both options would conducted.

We have a meeting this week with details.

CCES - no details, but zoom meeting next Monday for preliminary plan.

Yes - because every school has a different number of students who will be in person vs remaining virtual, a different number of staff who may have ADA or FMLA requests that have been approved, etc.

This is a direct quote from the MCPS communication on 2/9 addressing misconceptions about RTS:
"Misconception #2: Principals are “choosing” only one instructional approach within a school building.

FACT—Students will experience multiple instructional approaches in a day."

If you principal is announcing one approach in the school building, I would direct them to the MCPS communication and/or escalate to the Superintendent.

Lol it's a joke. Most schools are picking one model for the whole school.
