Not true. Most black people with similar first offenses don't get jail time in Montgomery County. That doesn't mean the sentencing is proportionate. But people seem to assume that racial disproportionality means all black people go to jail all the time. And that's simply not true.

So it's ok for Black people to get harsher sentences on average so long as not every single Black person gets a harsher sentence?

You really can’t be this dense. He was violent, towards very young girls. Black guys go to jail for years for selling a little bit of pot.

Wow. He absolutely assaulted the first small girl. I’m impressed with the bravery of the one who intervenes. I assume he ran his bike into the person taking the video and knocked that person over? Presumably that’s assault as well. This angry nutter should feel thankful to be on probation.

It's a myth that individuals black or white are in prison for simple possession.

Most people that end-up in prison after a marijuana violation are there because they violated parole for some other offense or multiple offenses.

It's a first person view from someone holding their phone. Did you expect them to have a multi-angle camera crew out with them? The video is supporting evidence. The people there can fill in what that picture is showing.

I like to dunk on MAMILs as much as the next person, but no. Bikes aren't the problem, bike gear isn't the problem, assaulting people is the problem.

The bicycle guy is a total a$&. But I'll have to admit that I had no idea how low the threshold was for Assault, if that was in fact Assault. It was terrible and reprehensible behavior but you see worse as a pre COVID kids basketball game.

Anyway, glad that he got probation. I agree that without the timing he probably would have received nothing. I think he had previously been fired from his job after the incident. While that does not factor in the legal arena I feel like he has probably learned all that can be learned here.
