Deferred, FCPS 3.9W, 1460 SAT. 8 APs (mostly 5s and some 4s).
Legacy. Deferral message said to send in 1st semester grades when available. DC had all As so hopefully this helps! |
| My DD is in. We're thrilled. GPA 3.98 unweighted, 4.6 something weighted, from an MCPS magnet. ACT 34. Not a musical prodigy, but impressive state/regional level awards in music. One parent is UM alum. Wrote essays that showed a lot of connection to UM -- we visit all the time. I think the latter is what got her in EA rather than RD-- and of course luck, as lots of people with her stats also get rejected. Good luck everyone. |

Congrats to those who got in!
Just watching this thread in awe of how competitive it’s gotten. DH went to Michigan (class of 2007). He’s from Ann Arbor and wonders if he would’ve gotten in today. 3.99 unweighted GPA and ACT score of 35. (I’m not insane — I only know this because I was literally telling him about this thread 5 min ago). Great violist, but didn’t win national competitions or anything. I know he’d love for DD to eventually go to Michigan (as would I). She’s only 4 so when she’s 18, god knows what it’ll take ... curing cancer? |

| Deferred but also know of kids who were rejected. |
Really? I have only heard of deferrals, so I figured everyone that wasn’t accepted was automatically deferred. |
No, there are rejections. There are also a fair number of acceptances after deferral - my older DC was deferred and then accepted. |
| Deferred. 4.6, 1440, lots of APs and IBs. |
| My DC and friends were all deferred. I haven’t yet heard of any rejections (DC private). |
+2 No rejections at our school, only deferrals. I assume they defer everyone in EA. |
