I gather the court continued to hear arguments today in the lawsuit challenging FCPS's changes to the TJ admissions policy. This comes after Judge Tran previously refused to dismiss the majority of the allegations in the lawsuit, allowing it to proceed to a hearing.
I can only imagine how it triggers posters like OP and some of the others on this thread that TJ parents, alumni, and students who oppose the School Board's changes might actually prevail. They are so used to congratulating one another on their wokeness and telling themselves that they are "on the right side of history" that they rarely bother to concern themselves with what other people think or what the law might actually require. Even if the plaintiffs lose the lawsuit, they've shed light on just how craven Atif Qarni, Scott Brabrand and the members of the School Board are. They don't operate on principle; rather, they make strategic decisions that they'll get more support if they bash Asian kids in the name of helping Black and Hispanic kids. Asra Nomani doesn't let them get away with their games, so of course their proxies on Twitter and other web sites harass her constantly. |
| So did African American kids get in but just choose not to go? I thought they didn't even get in. This whole change is simply because they decided not to go? |
It is great that YOU know what is good for some other kids and better than their own parents. You are a dumb idiot. |
Your expanding one family to all TJ kids is so ridiculous. You don't know these kids. You know one kid. I know many TJ kids who wanted to go there, even when their parents did not want to go. I know many kids who didn't prep to get it. I know many kids who did STEM clubs at school because they loved the. My kids love the place and feel at home there. Please stop conflating an anecdote with a description of a whole school of kids. All this anti-racism but none of it is directed at Anti-Asian racism. |

PP here.
I agree with the basic gist of the message. But to say you know what is good for others is where you are way off. |
+1 I am actually in favor of the changes, but the way they did it is outrageous. |
beautifully conveyed - I agree a 100% |
TJ students have a reputation for being racist toward Black TJ students. This is well known in this area among Black social circles. See other posts in this thread as examples of their parents' racism. |
Why is it any of your business how other people raise their children. There isn't any abuse going on soooo why do you care? |
This again. How many times does this have to get debunked. |
So true. Go to any soccer field, baseball diamond, or lacrosse field and you'll see these types of parents thinking Larlo will get a D1 scholarship for sports if they just keep pushing them. |
| I agree, OP. She is a terrible person and she really just needs to go away already. |
What was debunked? |
African american kids were not admitted. Not that they just choose not to go. |
Excellence is scary. |
