Why don’t Virginians know how to drive.

This is true of every state. Half the time in Maryland I am lost and not used to having to watch out for all the big brother speed cameras and "no right turn on red" at every other random traffic light. I get around in Tysons just fine but I have had friends in MD tell me they are terrified to drive in Tysons and find the streets and turn lanes super confusing. It's no surprise that when I see bad drivers in Tysons they are mostly from Maryland. I'm sure someone thinks the same of me in downtown Bethesda.

And I am going to leave this here which shows VA had more fatal accidents than MD in 2020.

The problem is there are like 15 kinds of traffic circles in DC. They are not uniform.

Study comparing which states have the worst drivers.
Virginia comes in at #26
Maryland comes in at #47
Which means Marylanders are among the best drivers.

I wish that were true but it isn't. I came here from Boston 35 years ago (when driving in Boston meant something) but it has only gone downhill, sadly, first in the District, then VA, and now we're planning to leave.

Nope. VA is the worst.

Np it was actually proven that md drivers are the worst.

VA drivers don’t know their left from their right. Stupid MFers.

Not surprising then that the bad VA drivers don’t like “MD drivers”.

As a VA POC, this is absurdly false. Because Virginia doesn't have Black drivers?!

Maryland drivers are just bad. I mean legally, signaling isn't even required. It's a Maryland thing. A crazy, crazy Maryland thing.

There's even a Twitter account dedicated to the ineptitude of Maryland drivers in DC: https://twitter.com/md_driver_in_dc?lang=en

Not when changing or switching lanes, nope. Not a law in MD. Explains a lot, doesn't it?

NP, and just have to chime in here as well, agreeing that it is not true. Asian drivers, OTOH... don't get me started. If I see a car with MD plates driven by an older Asian female, I just get the hell out of the way, because that is the bad driver trifecta right there. Never ever fails. Flame me all you want for ageism, sexism and racial stereotyping, but I stand behind my statement. Even my Asian friends agree!
