The OP’s post was stupid to begin with. If she’s at home and has a card then she can feel free to use her medical marijuana. |
Lol in my state you can literally just go in the store and buy it... I take 4 drops of an indica tincture nightly to help me sleep. When I lived in VA I’d get some whenever I visited home and bring it back. I’d be cautious since it wasn’t legal in VA. If you get a card then it’s legal and as long as you don’t show up high to work you are definitely fine. Marijuana is much better for you than wine, which is legal, so I think eventually it’ll be legal everywhere. But yeah, I wouldn’t worry about it at all. If you showed up high to work and they tested you then that would obviously be your own fault because just like drinking you shouldn’t consume that before work. |
Not necessarily, feds can’t take medical marijuana. The gist of my question is how are school districts handling medical marijuana? Are they telling teachers it’s off limits even though it’s legal? |
Can you stfu with your communist overreach? If I like to smoke then I do. Period. I’m professional and responsible enough to not consume prior to work. Why are you so thick!? And not in the right place(s) obviously. |

To answer your question, school districts are not "handling" medical marijuana. To my knowledge, nothing has been said about it in at any school board meeting in Northern Virginia, and there has been nothing issued by the VDOE. At this point schools are worried about retaining staff and hiring competent people to fill open positions. No one is looking to pick a fight over what school staff does off the clock, except maybe you. |

Feds have security clearances. Teachers are only bound by the same laws as the general population. |
What does a security clearance have to do with enjoying a joint? Or two? |
This made me laugh out loud. Like they're not trying to get rid of teachers, they're just trying to keep the ones they got. |
The short answer is they aren't dealing with it at all. There is no bandwidth for that right now during Covid. If you show up messed up at work, it will be treated like any other substance abuse issue (pain pills, booze, etc) not so much specific to mj |
I’m not looking to pick a fight over what I do off the clock - I want to make sure I don’t get fired over it |
Fired over medical marijuana? Have you ever been drug tested at work? Or have you ever had to supply medical records of any sort? I have not. |

I’ve gone to class high more than once. Pop some clear eyes and wash your hands and mouth. All Gucci. |
