MLSNext vs ECNL

Good plan; no reason they cannot do it. Other clubs would welcome them in MLSNext, along with VDA.

I remember when gas was .75 cents a gallon too. Things change.

It think it's worth trying out.

I've watched the U13B SYC vs Bethesda (Bethesda won 1-0) and SYC vs Armour (SYC won 2-1) games and ECNL doesn't even compare. Definitely will have my kid tryout with some MLSNext clubs for 2020-2021 season.

Maybe u13 had a full schedule however older age groups in MLS Next did not have a full schedule due to pandemic/quarantine issues with NJ/NY teams and now PA. ECNL teams had a full schedule this past fall in comparison.

I would not call two good teams (Arlington,Richmond) playing a full season. They play low quality teams at least in the older groups.

I consider playing any game (low quality or not) better than playing no game.

However, minimum salary is still stagnant while inflation soars everything else.

As far as I know MLSNext in our area is only for U13 and U14 and they haven't had any talk about expanding it to other age groups.

Good grief folks. Can we simply stop the misinformation. Click the link above to see that this is blatantly and absolutely false. The core MLS next academies and teams play U15 and U17 as well.

And there is also U16 and U19. Anybody who thinks they are better off playing BRYC, Loudoun and McLean three or four times versus practicing at DCU, Bethesda or Armour four times a week and playing zero matches is out of their minds.

Agree, kids will get more out of a MLSNext season of practice than a full season of games and practice at an ECNL bottom feeder club. I don't know what McLean is doing, but they look like at ass at U13 and U14 and so does BRYC in ECNL.

So what do you if your kid stands out at the ECNL level at a bottom feeder club, but if moving to a MLSNext club will just be another player. I would say go MLSNext cause what they're teaching works and the kid would be better off of 4 days of practice and minimal game time than getting a lot of game time at a bottom feeder. Plus, your kid will be exposed to smarter and more athletic players where they will need to up their game and compete.

If McLean is as$ what is Loudoun? Shit?

Actually, at U13B Loudon is pretty good in the DMV. I would be happy if McLean was at Loudon's level.

Thanks for the link! It shows all the ECNL Boys standings for ages 13-19 for Fall 2020. Either the Carolina clubs are real good or they have a wider range of competition with stronger and weaker teams.

You both posts sounds like the same staffer defending the reputation. Those are mediocre numbers. 6th of 16 with only half of the games won.

But we’ve seen you say those are awesome stats so the bar is definitely set very low.
