Mine is always in the 20s with my Fitbit and has even dropped into the high teens. |
| My Apple watch tracks my HRV. I’m 51 and sleep with my watch on. my baseline HRV is 62, but it definitely bounces around. I exercise regularly, but I’m not super fit. I also drink very little alcohol. |
It's not accurate on the Fitbit. |
| My average is 17 according to my watch! I exercise and am not obese, 43 years old. No idea why so low. I hardly drink |

| I went through an incredibly stressful winter/spring with autoimmune illness and emotional distress. My HRV via fitbit was notably low in the 20s. I was also having 1 drink of alcohol almost daily. I took a 10day break from all alcohol while also going on a vacation that had a lot of hiking, fresh air and full nights of sleep…and suddenly my HRV was in the 60s! I returned home and while doing so much better than I was, I am in the general swing of life/work/stress not enough sleep, not enough exercise and while I cut back significantly still drink here and there weekly. My HRV went back to 30s and has stayed there. Actually decided to stop tracking and got rid of my fitbit for the summer. |
| Is it accurate on the Apple Watch? |
| This made me feel so much better! I searched it up because I just noticed this metric and mine is terrible (20’s - 30’s) despite all my other metrics being really good for my age. I also don’t wear my watch when I sleep. |

I wear Apple Watch at night and use app SleepWatch to track my sleep. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, but I don't want to wear the stupid cpap machine. I'm finally sleeping after starting hormones to treat my menopause symptoms and hate to mess with it. I think sleep apnea diagnosis are new cash cow for healthcare industry - but that's another topic.
I love looking at metrics. I do not consider myself super fit as I need to lose about 20lbs. My HRV is high 40s according to the app and the watch. It was in 60s during summer. I'm 52 yo, I exercise daily. Weights, long fast walks, biking, etc. I think going outside might be a factor for HRV, possibly we are getting more oxygen, more sunshine during outdoor activities. It is curious that my winter-time avg HRV gone down. I haven't been outside much lately but I do still workout. |
| Ha I checked my Fitbit that only measures overnight and it said my HRV is always around 18. Oh well. |
