He voted for a dead man. That's not a 3rd party vote -- that's a mockery of our vote. If he hadn't pounded his chest showing off about how much he disliked Trump then no one would care. But he did. Then when it counted, he threw away his chance to make a difference. What a useless cowardly act. |
Hogan claimed he was against Trump. But when it came time to actually DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT he took a pass. |
yes, people know how it works. If Hogan threw away his vote, then basically he's saying it's ok if Trump wins. Why do you think so many Generals and National Sec. Adv. have stated that they are supporting Biden and not Reagan or a 3rd party candidate. |
LOL. Because people on DCUM never lie to stir the pot. |
| Is it Marilyn a blue state? Why is Hogan voting for Ronald Reagan a problem when Maryland was going to go blue The entire time? |
YEah it's not like MD is a swing state. His vote really doesn't make a difference. I think Hogan has a good chance of being president. Moderate Republican. He'll get all the R votes since they wont' vote D anyway. If the Dems put up someone who is seen as leftist, then you'll get some Ds and a lot of I's voting for Hogan. That's their key to win -- run a moderate Republican, and hope the Dems run a left-wing candidate. |
He's just another R jerk. Lose-lose. I was all for Hogan as a moderate Republican, and I'm a Democrat. No more. He won't win without moderate Dems voting for him. After Trump gets dumped, the nation won't vote for another mean spirited name caller like Hogan -- anyone who supported Trump won't like Hogan for all the (hot air) negative comments he made about him, and people who disliked Trump won't like Hogan because he didn't bother voting against him. Lose-lose. Come up with a better moderate R candidate and get back to us. Hogan's crossed himself off the list. |
Here's how it makes a difference: it shows people that he's just fine with being privileged, and won't be using his privilege to help anyone else. "Vote like your life depends on it" is not just a cute phrase. It really is true for some people. And when disrespect others by throwing away your vote in a flashy, showy, public way? You suck. |
It's not in a vacuum. See if voters remember 4+ years from now, and also compare it to their other choice, whoever that may be. Voters have very short memories. Remember when Trump shut down the government for months to get his wall funding, then reopened and he still didn't get it? Total waste, total incompetence.. and no one remembers. |
| Think of it from his political POV, he couldn't vote for Biden if he wanted even a chance of getting the GOP's backing. His vote doesn't matter in solidly blue MD. |
| Charlie Baker and Hogan (both moderate GOP Governors) sunk their potential 2024 presidential campaigns by supporting Susan Collins. |
Oh yeah. I was totally mad about that, but forgot. See how short my attention span is? |
| Hogan is a Republican. He will need support from his partying he wants to run foe Senator or for president at some point. I’m very pleased that he has been upfront about not voting for Trump. I’m also pleased that Hogan supports voting rights in MD. I have considered voting for him, and the way he has handled COVID has added the respect that I feel for him. Biden is expected to easily win MD. I am fine with Hogan’s decision to write in a dead guy — especially if it will mean that he will continue to have influence wopithin the Republican Party instead of another Trumpy. |
Moderate Democrats votes for Trump in 2016. They can 100% Hogan — who I don’t think will run. |
Nor can you say the same about OP |
