More the reason not to go on the first day the polls open. |
+1 Republicans know they benefit from suppressing the vote. They know what they are doing. |
Fire the GOP. Prosecute those who have violated existing laws. Tighten laws further in order to expand voting rights. Shame that potted plant Roberts till the day he dies for being such an incredibly stupid fool. We know the answers. |
Because who knows what kind of voter intimidation or suppression is yet to come? Do it early and make it count. |
They're not going to be in power forever. If Democrats pull this off they will have the presidency and both houses of Congress. The Supreme Court will of course block efforts to protect voting rights. We need pressure from civil society, including well-respected international organizations that make it their business to monitor elections, to shine a light on how bad this this. |
And there is still time to vote by mail. |
Another angle is that they took the first opportunity to vote in person and are willing to endure long lines and wait times and certain discomfort to vote the m......f...er out. |
Uh huh..... |
I don't think you get it, and that is your privilege. These precincts ALWAYS have lines because they have 2 or 3 voting machines for 100,000+ people. Waiting until election day means not getting to vote at all. It is great that YOU happen to have a precinct where you can vote, that is accessible and minimal lines. That isn't what it looks like in minority precincts in majority GOP states and counties. |
Um, maybe because Indigenous People's Day (or Columbus Day as they still call it in GA) is a state/fed holiday there. Maybe these folks are taking advantage of the one day where they won't miss work or have to burn leave to vote. |
Not when the USPS is delaying mail. I had a check mailed to me on 9/25 from less than a mile away that STILL hasn't arrived. |
You are incorrect. All the news reports I have seen state that the delays today are due to high turnout. |
This!!! And that's why Election Day should be a Federal/state holiday. |
Oh, it’s this. All night and all day. I do not live in a state with long lines (and already voted absentee), but I hoped to be just one of millions upon millions of tiny cuts. “If your vote didn’t matter, they wouldn’t fight so hard to block it.” https://www.splcenter.org/news/2019/10/26/weekend-read-if-your-vote-didnt-matter-they-wouldnt-fight-so-hard-block-it |
Nope. One place has 6 machines, some of which are "glitching". |
