You can lead a horse to a stream but you can’t make a horse to drink. |
You're more likely to have a horse that drinks if the water is good. Also, if you're unsure of a saying, you can check it on Google before posting. FYI |
Those who are thirsty can’t be choosy. |
So you are okay with a school with 0 Black students. Other people aren't. And they're in charge. |
Those duly elected by good citizens of this great commonwealth to represent the interests of said citizens shall convene for the rightful exercise and all ancillary duties thereto. The legislature shall decide not other people. |
It is incorrect that TJ has 0 black students. Give black students some credit will you. Geeze. |
Zero black students in the Class of 2024, though, right? The fact that so many at TJ are indifferent to this is troubling. |
| Not correct. Fewer than ten. I believe it’s 6. |
|
The new lottery is estimated to enroll 17 black students and over 220 whites. Asians will be something like 180. That is your correct incoming racial profile? Asian enrollment will fall by 200. Whites will increase by 150. You are racially cleansing the school.
Hey, but you will say you got a dozen blacks in! See the forest from the trees. |
Trees are important. This isn't a school board or Brabrand quirk. The state said so. |
Ethnic cleansing comes to Fairfax County. |
| Incredibly disturbing that the class of 2024 and parents don’t care. But, it’s clear from these posts as to why. |
The truly deserving blacks have very little chance to get in. |
TJ does have black students. People aren’t saying the admissions process shouldn’t change. They are saying let’s wait a year to make changes that aare thoughtful and include other stakeholder districts. TJ has always been majority white or Asian. It will be in the fire too. FCPS is less than 10% black. There will never be a significant black population at TJ. |
They will get in if they are qualified. |
