Vote Now! Smartfood Popcorn v. Skinny Pop

Smartfood cheddar for taste, Skinny Pop if I'm watching calories. It's still good, just more bland tasting.

Smartfood is so much better. The thick layer of fake cheese that accumulates on the hand — skinny pop comes nowhere near it.

I end up eating way less than the low cal stuff because it's so satisfying.

OMG that sounds amazing - I haven't hade real home popped stuff with butter in about 30 years

It's amazing.
Super easy on the stovetop or in microwave (Google Mark bittman microwave popcorn--no oil!). And cheaper and takes up way less storage space and plastic waste than prepopped bagged stuff. Plus it's exciting to hear the pop pop pop!

-not a lobbyist for the popcorn council, I swear

Taking this on a tangent, but when I add melted butter to my popcorn, it just makes the popcorn soggy. I have tried adding less butter and all that happens is that more kernels have no butter on them, and the ones that do are still soggy. What am I doing wrong?

Smart Pop! How is that even a question, if you are talking eating popcorn for fewer calories?
Or pop your own. Skinny pop kills with calories compared to smart pop.

That is amazing and low calorie! I love it but can't eat it due to dairy allergy.

Pop on stove in coconut oil. Add salt. Still good.

I pop in stove in coconut or avocado oil, one even in bacon fat.

With bacon fat I didn't add butter, but with the pills, I poured the popcorn out of the pan into a bowl. Add butter to pan, which is still hot enough to melt butter. Maybe a tablespoon for two people. Then I drizzle it on top the popcorn and then pour all the popcorn back into the pan, add a dash of salt, put the lid on and give it a few shakes before pouring back into the bowl.

We make our own, hot air popper , salt and a little butter yum! Since college our original air popper lasted over 25 years.

Smart food is the only acceptable popcorn unless you are making it on the stovetop with tons of butter and salt.
