Should I look into getting on the regular pill? Or an IUD? I am worried because I read the mini pill doesn’t work as well once a baby isn’t breastfeeding around the clock. I have been on the mini pill before and it has always been effective but I have never been on it this long (7 months postpartum).

If you have issues taking it at the same time every day (which is no knock on you - I would have problems too!), I would definitely switch to a more reliable form of birth control. I got a Mirena IUD 10 weeks postpartum and love it.

Yup this. If you don't want to risk a pregnancy now you either a) make sure you take that pill at the same time every day or b) find an alternative form of birth control You're a mom now, time to be a grown up.

Op here - thanks I have 3 kids and have been a mom for a while now. My Ob has always just told me while I am breastfeeding to use the mini pill. I used it with my other two kids with no problem but have never breastfed this long so I was sure. I never even had my 6 week checkup since it was the middle of quarantine.

Wow, really? I delivered my second child in May - super easy delivery, no complications - and I was still asked to come in to the office for the 6w post-partum visit.

Op here - yea my 6 week check up was literally right when the quarantine hit (March).

I was on the mini pill for about a year or more and am now 8 weeks pregnant. Unless you're perfect about taking the pills every single day and the same exact time (I was 90% of the time), I'd recommend another form of BC.

Op- I had this issue and my insurance let me get three refills at once so I did that and placed a pack in different locations depending where I may be- in car, diaper bag, and bathroom and set an alarm. So I always have a pack near me I can take a pill from.

Op here - where are you keeping your pill that you set an alarm and it’s with you everywhere you are? Like in a purse or something? I don’t carry a purse and I switch diaper bags so much that I can’t remember where I put my wallet most of the time. The only thing I have with me 100% of the time is my phone. Other than that it’s a crap shoot. I wake up and go to bed different times each day.

NP here. I don't use it for birth control pills, but for my migraine meds that I pretty much always have on me. I have something similar to this -

https://www.containerstore.com/s/bath/medication-storage/pill-capsule-shaped-pill-holders/12d?productId=10006865&gclid=Cj0KCQjwoJX8BRCZARIsAEWBFML8lbeoOLPIgRrMbIrGt-bmPKxl56DcQAP7P9odZWuOqSvzVHj9DVQaAj1aEALw_wcB

I also see there are some cute small cases that come with a key chain, assuming you'd have your car/ house keys whenever you are out.

I think that's a question for your OBGYN. You'd only get anecdotal advice here.
