It is gong to be interesting how Elrich and Gayles respond to this.

By not even submitting a plan shows that they are not qualified to lead. Jack Smith? please ..he can't figure out anything and the BOE should be thrown out.

So according to their metrics, MoCo should be able to provide a hybrid model of learning.

Hogan’s metrics were pretty much in line with Harvard’s and what Dr Faucci have been saying for weeks. I wish Hogan would have said them earlier.

Dr Gayles will likely find another study to use and say he is being more conservative. That seems to be his playbook. The question is how long people accept this method. He has tried it a few times. each time there seems to be a bit more pushback to the science he has selected

Our testing rate is great now - there's not some hidden cluster of cases like in these states:

ND: 29.21 and 13.235%

I think the teacher's unions would do well to propose conditions when they'd re-open, where younger and healthier teachers can go back along with students.

Hogan, on the other hand, didn't help himself by complaining about counties re-opening virtually - which is chock full of the very voters who he won a second term with and would need if he seeks to defeat Van Hollen in 2022.

It’s borderline criminal that MoCo hasn’t even tried to get kids back in any form, even the SN kids.

Totally agree. It is absolutely unacceptable. MoCO needs to be making every effort they can to bring SN kids and others into the building for in person instruction. There needs to be a plan to get ALL kids back to school.

+100. When you can bring Bart-T in to the school buildings, charge $1300 a week and not attempt anything for SN or the highest needs kids - you lost any appearance of a good faith effort. And I agree with the state assessment, if you can do Bart-T that is a de facto type school. Hogan was not saying schools need to start in September face to face - but they need some plan to get some kids in this - calendar year.

The data is now coming in post that lab issue and it’s looking good. Wish we understood more the issue - but at least it’s still on track.
