Give your kids headphones!

Get takeout! You are in good company with rude, selfish, thoughtless people if you are dining out at a restaurant.

How about don’t give your kids devices in restaurants. We’ve never done that, our parents certainly never did it.

It’s terrible and only getting worse. And if you politely ask the parents to turn it down, they look at you like YOU at the rude one. It’s appalling.

Since when is playing one's music/movie/whatever else in public considered good manners?

Good manners is not taking stupid risks for no reasons during a pandemic.

Just stop. It’s perfectly safe to sit six feet apart from someone outdoors and eat a meal. You do you, and let the rest of us do what the experts are telling us is safe.

It's actually not, thanks to ventilation systems.

YES!

No!!!!!!

We had a nice meal outdoors last night. We have been stuck in our small condo for MONTHS, and it did wonders for our mental health. The staff wore masks, we stayed sufficiently distant from others.

Besides, kids blaring their devices was a problem LONG before the pandemic. How are your kids supposed to learn manners if you have none?

My only disagreement with your post is that it's not the kids that are the problem...it's the parents for allowing this sort of selfish antisocial behavior.

Oh well. I take my kids to the all the most expensive restaurants in the DC area and they always play ipad, but with the sound off. I don't care what anyone things. I'm richer you than you and I do what I want

You should not be saying anything. Anyone who is eating out right now cannot comment about others being rude. Its appalling you would even eat out at a restaurant.
