Clomid if you want multiples. If you can’t keep the pregnancy there’s no advantage. |

I'm so sorry.
Like the PP, I would be inclined to think it's just bad luck. I remember reading (from a reputable source though can't find the citation) that at age 38, the average woman may only be producing viable eggs in 2 out of 12 cycles. Which makes it a question of catching the cycle with the good egg. Not sure whether it helped but I took coq 10 supplements after my miscarriage because I'd read it can improve egg quality. I had a healthy pregnancy next. Might help, can't hurt. |
| MTHFR. Talk to your RE about it. |
Not the OP, but I'm in a similar situation, and I literally just talked to my Dr. about MTHFR today. She told me that MTHFR is very common- about 20% of people have it, and the response is to take folate, rather than folic acid. She told me that she's willing to do it, but the test is probably just not worth it, and the science isn't there. However, just taking folate/ putting spinach in a smoothie every day seems like a perfectly fine thing. OP- I feel for you. I've had three miscarriage myself in the last year and it's been awful. Hang in there. |
| It could just be bad luck. I had three miscarriages while doing IVF and then a baby at 41, and then a surprise baby at 44. I would say just keep trying. Good luck to you. |
| You sound like me 16 years ago. My doctor did a series of tests and it was discovered that I was lacking a particular enzyme that would’ve helped me absorb folic acid and, I believe B6... It’s been a long time And I’m trying to remember the exact vitamins. However as a result of this missing enzyme I had to take double the amount of folic acid then in the typical, pregnancy pill along with the B6 and B 12 supplement. After that regimen, I got pregnant and did not miscarry, and had my son. I was told that if I was missing two enzymes I would’ve had to give myself a shot in the stomach every day. This is a long way of saying, you should check with your doctor and have some panels taken. |
It's better to have the test done, than have 7 MC and decide at that point, ok maybe I should have the test. Unfortunately, a lot of women aren't tested for it until near that point. I hope it works out for you. Did your doctor also mention taking baby aspirin? |
Many people with MTHFR have to do baby aspiran and Lovenox. Talk to Dr. Abassi at Columbia Fertility. |
I personally (the PP who talked to my Dr about MTHFR) can't take baby aspirin- I'm allergic, so the equation is more complicated for me. I think it I could take baby aspirin I would because there just seems to be limited downside. |
I had two early miscarriages at age 39/40 and then went to SGF. They explained IVF at helping with the odds of getting a healthy egg. I did 2 cycles of IVF with them; the first wasn't successful but the second was, with embryos to freeze after; I had a second child at 43 with FET. |
| friend had this, have them check for uterine infection. |
I have MTHFR. Lost 3 pregnancies (12 weeks, 5 months, and 6 weeks) before finally finding the right doctors who got me on Lovenox. Subsequently had 2 full term, living creaming babies. Perinatal Associates of NOVA- I credit them for my family. |
| Another push for testing for blood clotting diseases. There are several. Also request progesterone (either injections or vaginal inserts) — it can help sustain early pregnancy. He would likely take it for the first 10 to 12 weeks of pregnancy. There aren’t really any side effects Or downsides to taking it. |

Hugs to you OP. I’ve been there with the TFMR this past spring and it was just gd awful. Have also had 2 MCs (one tested and was genetically normal, other wasn’t normal). I’ve had 2 successful pregnancies and am now trying to conceive my 3rd on the eve of my 39th bday. Have had the RPL done and no major findings. When I was 35 and conceived my DD my diet was a lot cleaner so I’m trying to get back to that, in addition to the supplements my RE suggests (vitamin D, coq10, good prenatal like Best Nest which has the specific type of folic acid for people with MTHR, good pro and prebiotic).
All the best to you, I hope you’re able to get some answers |
| 21:51 I'm trying to get pregnant at 44, after 2 miscarriages and having my son at 40. Can you say what you think helped you? |
