Texted who? The daycare? That’s giving authorization and letting them know someone else was coming. OP isn’t doing that, daycare has no idea who this stranger is, only that DD recognizes them. She cried when one of them came. |
If there are people you know that your daughter would recognize and seem happy to see, who you think would hurt your kid, then you need to talk to the daycare about those specific people and share photographs and names. Daycare did wrong here, they should have checked, but this is the kind of thing that daycares need to know. If someone who would do that to a child is in the vicinity, I need to know not to bring the child to the outside pick up spot, until I have checked ID. |
PP, this is the reason that a lot of daycares, schools, and kids have a forbidden list -- people you are specifically NOT authorizing to pick up your kid, and where they should attempt to contact you should a person on the forbidden list make such an attempt.
But that would still require doing ID checks on anyone not recognized on sight. I would certainly escalate the complaint. |
