Really? I am middle aged, but also super fit and I’ve had the bike for 3 years. I also live in the city and am a triathlete. I’m sure this middle aged woman could kick your as$. |
| Echelon is cheaper and same experience. A large chunk of the Peleton bike cost is the screen. With echelon you use an ipad |

I love mine, especially now in the pandemic, but I could comfortably afford it. If you can, I see little downside to having the bike and I like having the metrics on screen. The part I like best is jumping off the bike and into my own shower.
I’m pregnant now and it’s been really great for that too. I do low impact (seated, lower effort) rides on demand. |
Went back and forth at the beginning of quarantine about peloton v echelon and went with echelon. I love it, I can’t imagine how peloton could be any better. Some reviews out there of echelon say the app is glitchy but I’ve had no issues at all. It’s an amazing workout and they have tons of classes. |

I have a sunny bike plus app. I love it but I do see the value in getting the real peloton.
Things you can do with the peloton you can’t with the app: ride live and be on the leaderboard See your output (which is essential for power zone classes) If you can afford it, get the peloton. If you can’t afford it or it won’t be your primary exercise, get the bike and use the app. |
| Some of you are so rude. I don't have a Peloton, but I went with my friend when she was considering buying one. I can see how it would be very motivating to have the leaderboard, group classes etc. |
Not true at all ( at least for me.) I was a runner for years and also had gym memberships off and on depending on where I lived for weight training, and I also went to a yoga studio. I also walk our dog and walk with neighbors or dc all the time. However, my work got busy with long hours and it was getting harder and harder to get the extra 20-30 min to just get to the gym as it takes 10 min each way to drive and in winter have to warm up car, put on coat, gloves. Also, as a women I was not comfortable running in the dark alone after my running partner moved. So when a friend mentioned the Peloton as an alternative, I was intrigued. I can get up at 5am be downstairs in minutes in a safe, warm environment and work out for 30-45 minutes every day with no excuses. I do realize you can do that on a treadmill, you tube etc but for me the Peloton program was the answer. I had a 15+ year history of almost daily exercise so I knew I would use it. I also had/have a treadmill that I have used through the years when I could not get outside, and so again the running program app with the Peloton bike made it easier to do both. It is a superior product. The classes are fun, inspirational, challenging- whatever you need. I also use the app for yoga, meditation, sleep meditation, weights. After you purchase the bike, the monthly fee is equivalent to 18$ a week. I cannot say enough good things about it. |
| I love my Peloton bike. As a working parent it is the best way I've found to make exercise a regular part of my life. I also use the app with a very old treadmill to do the Peloton bootcamps, and I regularly do their strength training workouts. They do a really great job of introducing new content to keep you engaged and excited to workout regularly. I highly recommend it! |
+1 I've been an athlete for 30 years--running, swimming, rowing, weight-lifting, etc. I love our Peloton, especially now, when the gym isn't safe to return to. There's enough variety in the instructors and types of rides to appeal to most people, including those of us with a long history of exercise/athletics. |
| We have a cheaper Schwinn bike from Amazon with added cadence monitor and use the app. It works really well. DH is kind of itching to buy the actual pelaton bike but I don't see the value. Neither of us take live classes and aren't really motivated by the leaderboard aspect. The enhanced metrics might be nice but I'm not sure it would be worth the money. |
| I love my peloton. I had a schwinn bike and hated it. The peloton is actually a better machine- smoother, more solid feeling. Great customer service. And the metrics integration with the classes is a huge motivator that would be absent on the ipad. You don't have to care about the leaderboard, just coompeting against yourself is huge. |

I am someone who hadn't exercised for years and got in the pandemic as a form of stress-relief and self-care. I have two very little kids and a busy job so getting to the gym just wasn't happening; now it's not an option.
I love this thing and have used it every single day for the past 45 days. The metrics are motivating, the instructors are great, I have friends who use it so I enjoy the social part of it, and there is content for whatever your mood. I often find that if I am not feeling it, I can start with a shorter ride, get to the end, and then want to do something more. I am feeling better and am definitely seeing a difference in my body. DH is into it too. I'm very glad I got it. |

| Love the Peloton. I'm 32 and before the pandemic did SoulCycle and running for exercise. Got the Peloton to continue exercise during the pandemic and do not regret it at all. In the long run, I'll definitely save money — and I love not having to go anywhere to work out. |
