48 year old here - keep thinking that, I am in better shape than most people my age and I love the Peleton. why the hate? just don't buy it |
Lol, have you every tried spinning? It's a hard workout if you're doing the classes. I don't think you know what you're talking about. |
I have the Sunny 1805 (+cadence monitor and clip pedals) and the Peleton app. I can see the appeal of the real Peleton bike and can afford it, but for me I ride as cross training for marathon running. The Sunny is solid, has magnetic resistance, and gives me a great workout. I find a lot of value in the Peleton App itself. Loving their running, strength, yoga, stretching, and meditation classes in addition to the cycle. |
| I used the peloton app with another bike for a while, then took the plunge and bought the peloton this summer. I love it! I cancelled my gym membership and have free weights at home. The peloton workouts are excellent, and being able to adjust my resistance and cadence to exactly the suggested range gives me a great, challenging workout. I was super skeptical about this bike but now that I have it, it’s really worth it to me. |
I’m insanely fit and toned and tiny and only do Peloton. 45 intervals and arms 2x a week baby! |
| Peloton is pricey, but if you can afford it, it is worth it. Also, the app has tons of other workouts (treadmill, yoga, cardio, etc) and if you have smart tv or roku you can have the app on your big screen and do non bike workouts there. Beats the gym as you have 20 or more different personal trainers to choose from. |
| I got the schwinn ic4 about 2 months ago. I considered the Peleton, but there was at least a 2 month wait. Also, I don't have a good track record for sticking with exercise programs, and didn't think it would be worth spending all of the money on the Peleton to potentially have it sitting around unused. So far I've stuck with the program on the Schwinn. I use the Peleton app. The Schwinn "connects" to the Peleton app and it does show my cadence. It may not be accurate as an actual Peleton, but it seems to match up closely to the RPM readout on my bike. I do a 30 minute Peleton class 6 times a week. So far I've lost at least 8 lbs and I'm happy I got it. If you are on the fence, maybe one of the cheaper spin bikes would be a good compromise. Mine was about $800 and amazon had it in stock, so I didn't have to wait weeks or months to get started. |
| Sunny owners—what spin shoes work with the Sunny bikes? I just bought a Sunny BF-1002 |
You probably have to change out the pedals - so it’s dependent on what pedals you put on. Mine are SPD. |
