In summary Peloton is for middle aged out of shape suburban people who never worked out before in their lives but wanna feel like they’re part of the latest exercise craze
Not true at all ( at least for me.) I was a runner for years and also had gym memberships off and on depending on where I lived for weight training, and I also went to a yoga studio. I also walk our dog and walk with neighbors or dc all the time. However, my work got busy with long hours and it was getting harder and harder to get the extra 20-30 min to just get to the gym as it takes 10 min each way to drive and in winter have to warm up car, put on coat, gloves. Also, as a women I was not comfortable running in the dark alone after my running partner moved. So when a friend mentioned the Peloton as an alternative, I was intrigued. I can get up at 5am be downstairs in minutes in a safe, warm environment and work out for 30-45 minutes every day with no excuses. I do realize you can do that on a treadmill, you tube etc but for me the Peloton program was the answer. I had a 15+ year history of almost daily exercise so I knew I would use it. I also had/have a treadmill that I have used through the years when I could not get outside, and so again the running program app with the Peloton bike made it easier to do both. It is a superior product. The classes are fun, inspirational, challenging- whatever you need. I also use the app for yoga, meditation, sleep meditation, weights. After you purchase the bike, the monthly fee is equivalent to 18$ a week. I cannot say enough good things about it.
+1 I've been an athlete for 30 years--running, swimming, rowing, weight-lifting, etc. I love our Peloton, especially now, when the gym isn't safe to return to. There's enough variety in the instructors and types of rides to appeal to most people, including those of us with a long history of exercise/athletics.
