Nope. Yes, no issues with being prepared but another shutdown is not coming. I'm not opposed but I just don't think so. |
Still trying to move to a house with a yard for the kids and a guest room and second bathroom so one of us could try to quarantine away from tue others if we had to. This market is crazy though.
I think the big wild card is how long our employers are willing to give us the incredibly helpful amount of telework and schedule flexibility they have so far. I am not sure they anticipated this dragging on past the summer. If there is another shutdown but our employers say "that's enough guys, back to work," it's a whole new problem. |
Stocked up on gin, and have a Khan Academy kids account - ready to go. |
I’ve been wondering about this. If schools don’t open (and I don’t believe they will) why are cases expected to explode in the fall? Mask use is much more prevalent than 4 months ago. Also it’s not as if there’s anywhere to go and long distance travel will be much slower than it is now in the summer. |
Because middle America is doing a demo of what a bunch of collective idiots we are to the rest of the world. They don't seem inclined to stop. |
Exactly. It's still out there--we are still at risk. My guess is we will be in lockdown come end of summer/early fall. |
My spouse was in an RV for two months (ICU worker). I am dreading if that happens again. |
lol - exactly. We’ll keep on doing the same thing. Only this time i have more toilet paper. |
+1 it’s about the only thing almost everyone (including scientists) agree on. The exception is when in crowded places like boardwalks and some beaches, or playing a close contact sport. |
That seems really excessive to do again (now that we know a bit more) unless you or the kids are high risk. Five close friends, my brother and my godmother all worked hands on with COVID patients (nurses, a physician and a radiology tech) and every single one confidently went home to their families after their shifts. And I live in one of the states that was hardest hit in the spring. With proper PPE and basic hygiene there is no reason for medical staff to self-isolate. |
Say what? The East coast is not the poster child of how to behave. Look at all the DMV people here packing the Oceanside beaches. |
+1. It will be right before the election. Then, magically, by mid November, everything will start to look better. |
Or it will be right after election. Both sides will be milking this situation. |
Ah yes, the whole rest of the world is in cahoots with US Dems. |
California just canceled all school in counties with a heavy viral count - which is pretty much all the populated counties. Daycares too.
Smart move but so hard on the parents. And yes, it could easily happen here. |
