Might be a bit low for Elon. Elon went on the Common App this year and saw a huge jump in applications.

The Class of 2023 boasts an average SAT score of 1,241, an ACT score of 27 and an average GPA of 3.99.

That is probably a weighted gpa.

Yes, and north carolina schools weight their GPAs very heavily, so that may play into it also.

Have you looked at CNU? It feels a lot like a LAC

Also look at Dickinson, Marist, and Muhlenberg

My 2020 DC had a 3.2 and 26 ACT. Accepted at Muhlenberg, Connecticut College and Oberlin. WL at Elon.

Those two, with those stats, kind of surprise me. Also the WL at Elon.

They have a long history getting kids into certain schools Like High Point, Loyola MD, Xavier, and such, even for kids whose GPA is much lower than the averages for those schools. But most of the kids at this private (those in the know can probably figure out the one I'm speaking of) do poorly on the ACT/SAT, so many go test optional. With a 30 ACT I wondered if DH's options had opened up, but maybe we should stick with the colleges his school has the relationships with. The counselors like to push all the kids towards the same set of colleges; the ones that this private HS already has a pipeline set in place.

Field?

Their GPA stats are typically higher, but I’m sure they include weighted GPAs. They have early decision and I’m sure full pay would go a long way this fall.

I love the look of Furman. Is it super conservative though?

PP here. I should have added that DC submitted an impressive arts supplement that likely helped with admissions.
