I’m letting my 3yo watch Disney+ all afternoon

We did puzzles, rode bikes, read books, colored, played house and everything else I could think of. That got us to lunch.

Pre pandemic, she would go to preschool, meet up for play dates, go on outings, eat out. Now we just watch Disney +.

Please tell me that watching Disney+ all afternoon is ok.

We did do a lot this past weekend like go cherry picking and go to a drive thru zoo.

No, OP, it’s not okay. Binges like this are really bad for young kids. Space out his screentime more.

I’m sorry - I am as stressed as everyone with kids and working from home but I can’t give the okay to letting a three year old watch tv all afternoon.

And you're the authority for what reason?

OP, don't ask DCUM to alleviate you of guilt. DCUM literally never does this. The TV is your friend right now. Embrace it.

Sure...

I don't doubt you can find some sort of social scientist that would make such a claim, but can you find experimental data that actually backs that up?

Well bless your heart! So shoot me your email and we’ll set up a schedule for you to come over and entertain my toddler in between her tv sessions. Looking forward to it!

Wow! You are brave, PP! You know you’re going to get flamed, right?

I happen to agree with you but there are two things on DCUM parenting you can never go against: TV and daycare. The posters here will rip you to shreds if you ever say anything negative about their young kids watching hours of tv. Even when the OP asked your opinion you never ever give your honest opinion if the question is about tv or daycare.

You're free to say you don't like screen time for your kids. But don't make a grand claim about it being "really bad" without some "really good" evidence to back it up.

I feel like the only people wringing their hands/being super judgmental about this don’t have kids older than 3.

Sounds like she had a great morning and weekend. A couple of hours of TV aren’t going to do anything to her!

Oh STFU. There’s nothing wrong with Disney. Get off your high horse.

You are doing a lot more of what I am doing with my 4.5. She play with her 2 year old brother all day. She’ll be fine. OP your daughter is 3. She’ll be fine as well.
