I’m letting my 3yo watch Disney+ all afternoon

DH said watching another Disney movie won’t damage our 3yo.

We did puzzles, rode bikes, read books, colored, played house and everything else I could think of. That got us to lunch.

Pre pandemic, she would go to preschool, meet up for play dates, go on outings, eat out. Now we just watch Disney +.

Please tell me that watching Disney+ all afternoon is ok.

We did do a lot this past weekend like go cherry picking and go to a drive thru zoo.

Don’t worry about it! My 3 year old is at preschool because we couldn’t engage her all day in stimulating activities at home. She needs preschool.

Our preschool cancelled summer camp. They did say they plan to open in the fall.

Personally, I figure I can keep increasing screen time until my toddlers start calling the TV "dada."

What else would they expect teleworkers to do when they close daycares?

Like many, many preschools in MoCo, it’s been open for practically the entire time. We are essential workers, so we qualified for EPCC when that was a thing. Now it’s open to pretty much everyone, with capacity restrictions.

In MoCo, if you work in an essential industry, you qualify for EPCC care, even if you telework.

In MoCo, if you work in an essential industry, you qualify for EPCC care, even if you telework.

Even though feds are listed as essential employees, not all daycares will take you if you're a teleworking fed.

Though, our particular case is different. We've been paying to keep our spot in our existing daycare. I'm not going to start paying for daycare twice, and I'm not going to switch my kids to a different provider. Our provider tried a few times to get EPCC status, but the first time they scared to away by claiming the county could dump whatever kids they wanted in her daycare. The second time she applied they closed applications before processing hers. And then the third time they stopped processing EPCC applications before she got through because MSDE ended the program (but you still need to be EPCC to open in MoCo, which now is impossible to get).

No, OP, it’s not okay. Binges like this are really bad for young kids. Space out his screentime more.

I’m sorry - I am as stressed as everyone with kids and working from home but I can’t give the okay to letting a three year old watch tv all afternoon.
