That’s not the vibe VA governor is sending. At this time phase 2 may be lasting 1mos. Government jobs are being told that normalcy may not happen until mid July. Phase 3 will be July 10th.

I am okay with gradual to keep everyone safe. Also many and let’s be honest that most kids have not been playing real soccer (techne does not count) for months. They need their own reentrance plan to prevent injury, even above and beyond COVID safety. I have a GA/ECNL child and this is something parents have been discussing. This will be a process and everyone should be patient with the clubs. They are trying to be careful and follow league rules.

Why are we things so crazy about getting back to Normal. We should start now. This has been the biggest Hoax ever, especially for NOVA. Our hospital beds have been practically empty and 75% have been mild. Let the kids play!

I don’t think it’s a hoax at all and will be with us for a long time. But I also think staying in the bubble just defers the acquisition of immunity at enormous physical, psychological, mental and economic costs. Kids should go back to school and should play with sensible screening. The rest of us should act responsibly, guided by intelligence and not paralyzed by fear. I can live without seeing my kids play again. I really could not care less. But holding children hostage to the fears of a few in schools or otherwise is a disproportionate and potentially catastrophic response to a real but manageable set of problems.

NP here. A neighbor who is involved in running a small local sports league (not soccer, but an outdoor sport that uses similar fields and facilities) mentioned that Arlington officials had told her that fields would likely be available for permitted use sometime in early July. This was a week or so ago.

We are set to practice next week. Phase 2 in Fairfax allows for field permits. Not sure about Arlington.

That's pretty much the same timeline. It wasn't a guarantee that July 3 is the drop-dead date. Just a perspective on what timeline they're hearing.

Can you explain this. Is this a hybrid former DA player that is now a GA player but wants to be an ECNL player?

No a parent who is saying their kid is either in DA or ECNl unless has two kids and each is in one of the leagues.

Mental health should be a bigger concern than coronavirus for young people, without interaction and the things they love/regular exercise we could be in trouble
