Girls are different than boys
A) a boy can use skills while still having enough strength to fend of defenders. I will use Messi as an example he might look weak but if you were to see him up close he's built like a tank very strong small dude. B) Girls have development issues such as breast and low hormones to be as fast and strong as boy. A skilled player will always be at a disadvantage to a stronger player running up pushing her to the ground. Speed and strength is a must on womens sports prove me wrong |
This is why there are two different leagues one for female and one for male players. Strength and skill can be developed (Messi, Pulisic, and many others even Ronaldo). Speediness well! |
Such a stupid argument. Girls were not being compared to boys. |
+1 my two cents TH who I admire holds the game by making many great moves and tricks with the goal of scoring, while doing it she unintentionally takes a risk because the opposite team anticipates her moves. CP moves faster either she scores or assists, oposite team can’t always anticipate CP move. |
Doesn’t this mean that the individual is not proficient enough with her skills then? With adequate amount of practice, certain skills become very natural and instinctual. |
I am not surprised of seeing these kind of negative posts now that some clubs are doing virtual tryouts and some trying to recruit/keep players. |
Tell it to Marta, who is only 5.4 feet tall and has been one of the best soccer players in the world. How many 5.4 players do you see on top ECNL teams in the older age groups? |

This is a very good article about college women’s soccer recruiting. It indicates height and skill requirements.

The intent of my post had nothing to do with tryouts, must be something on your mind. It also wasnt just about proficiency. In the end its about technical skills, awareness, adequate strength, speed of body/mind, and potentially team shape dynamic, rather than 1000 juggles. |
Oh here we go again on the juggling. I doubt you even know how to evaluate technical skill of a player.
|
+1 🤪 |
| Technical skill is just not important for girls. It is just too hard to find. It’s all about speed and physicality. There are a ton of these girls out there. It makes it easy to put a team together and you can always find replaces. Most coaches will tell you a good big player beats a good little player. Pick the big player. |
If both players are good, I want both on my team. |
And if there is one roster spot left and it's between a skilled little player and a big player who struggles trapping/dribbling/passing/shooting, I'm taking the skilled player regardless of size. |
