What is too old for short shorts?

It looks silly after you are in your early 20s. Wear them at home if you want? Sure. Shopping? Nope.

Honest question. What is the definition of short shorts? I assume anything 3" or less. But is 4-5" short?

To OP's question, wear what you are comfortable in. I don't think it would look odd unless paired with something like a crop off the shoulder top or something like that.

For me, not at 49. My skin is feta cheese white and I hate how ti looks. So, only after a spray tan.

Um. I had cellulite when I was 105lbs. and 17 years old.

Right....so no short shorts. It’s less of an age thing and more about the condition of your legs.

I would take an honest assessment of that factor in a full-length mirror. Go for the OVERALL assessment, and not just "my legs look good."

This is a little harsh, but I generally agree. Even if you look great, at a certain age it looks a little desperate walking around in coochie cutters. As I have gotten older, I've wanted to look a bit more sophisticated and put together (I am 35) so something like shredded denim hot pants isn't really part of that look no matter how great my legs look. Leave if for the young girls or the beach, if you must.

There’s no age you can’t wear these if you look good and like them. I work hard so my legs can look the way they do and I like wearing shorts in the summer because of it.

Wow. I bet the first woman commenting is more like 50+ and you agree with her at 35. Surely you don’t have gray hair and crepey skin and age spots at 35?

Or you just wear them anyway because every woman has cellulite to some degree and it doesn’t matter?

Nope. I wore the short shorts. The only ones who noticed my cellulite were me and mean bit$&es like you.

Keep your cheeks covered standing and sitting. Other than that- F them all. If you like wearing them, do it and don’t care what others think.

Wear what you want, you don’t owe anybody anything

It really depends as much on your face as the condition of your legs. There is nothing worse than seeing a woman from behind with long hair, young clothes, and they turn around and are not young. It's the contrast that is startling. If that same woman who probably is in good shape and probably has a well preserved face had worn clothes that didn't scream YOUNG (short shorts) then when they turned around you would think: Wow, she looks great. Instead, because of the surprise, it feels a little sad that the person is desperate to stay young.

I know a 40+ woman who wears short shorts and long hair. When you see in regular clothes (even tight jeans) she looks amazing. But the short shorts just look odd.

OP, my guess is if you are asking then you do care.

But that she is asking at all means she does care.

Shorts are for kids.

I’m 42 and wear a 2-4” inseam as a matter of preference. I have nice firm legs. I’m not going grey, I don’t have crepey skin. I do have a long torso and short legs on a short body and a 6” inseam hits nearly at my knee, which looks incredibly frumpy on me.
