On the refund front, Vienna Youth Soccer has posted a policy. They will credit $400 to next season for returning players and provide $250 refund to players not returning.
For those of us who can afford it, I look at this similar to the Federal Paycheck Protection Program. In this situation some money has to flow from those who have it to those who need it. I am not expecting a refund from our club. |
Fire him because then they have no money to pay him? |
| They are very creative and can configure games weeknight evenings as well as early morning and into late evenings or weekends. The spring season can be squeezed into 3-4 weeks in august and then delay fall til mid September with a few double weekend games to get back on track |
You seem to assume we live in a free country. |
Yes |
Are they raising the fees by $150 to offset? |
| if you want to play soccer this season, move to brazil, they are still playing |
Our club has offered a refund. Not huge but more than two hundred dollars which is not insignificant... |
|
All the clubs and pushing this narrative of “we are almost ready” which is utter bollocks. They are trying to hold your money or not give refunds or just keep your interest.
EVERY GUIDELINE IN EVERY STATE calls for social distancing through Phases 1-2-3-4. Soccer cannot be played at a social distance. Tennis? Yes. Cross country? Sure. Soccer? No. We are not going to see organised youth soccer with games until 2021. |
+1. Or when vaccinations are widely available. |
| My kids are out of shape. They have been training but nothing like before. The heat, the injuries... no thanks |
Welcome to D3. |
Will you please stop lying. This undermines your credibility. Phase IV permits going to rock concerts and baseball games. But not a youth soccer game? Have you lost your mind? You think school will be our until a vaccine? In the four or five years it may take (assuming one can be commercialized)? |
PHase IV is basically the same as back to normal. Which definitely won’t happen until 2021. Major employers are saying they won’t have Teleworking employees return to work until September at the earliest, and that’s Phase III. The real question is whether recreational stuff, like youth soccer, is permitted in phase III. And that depends on possible liability IMHO. Pro sports are more prone to take the liability. I don’t know whether the same is true for non-essential youth sports. |
Waivers. We sign them all the time. Stop it. |
