Stolen Whole Foods delivery

Did you ask them to ring the doorbell under special instructions? Although I’m not sure they’re allowed to even then. They never ring our doorbell, and we’ve had at least a half dozen deliveries. No issues (in Old Town Alexandria).

Make a general announcement about what? An order being stolen from a doorstep after they delivered it??

Delivery drivers aren’t supposed to ring your doorbell anymore due to COVID-19. Amazon texts you multiple times and you can follow the delivery online also.

Why would the delivery driver get in trouble and why would the store bear ANY responsibility for this? Honestly, people like you drive me crazy. You know you’re expecting a delivery - stay by your phone.

People like you cause others to lose their jobs for no reason.

OP, I do think you bear the larger responsibility here. I get almost all of our food via Amazon Fresh right now. When I know I have a delivery coming I am on the lookout for it. If you live in Dupont Circle then you likely live in a rowhouse right on the street. You really should have been watching out for the delivery better. This is not the driver's or Amazon's fault.

Come on how, you ate it and forgot oops!

I concur, OP it sucks but you need to be on top of the door/your phone during your delivery window especially since you live downtown.

Contact Amazon, get reimbursed.

Why should Amazon pay for Ops negligence in not retrieving their delivery?

They never rang the doorbell.

They always text send you emails multiple times before just drop it off. Did you ignore those?

Not OP, but for the last month, none of our Amazon grocery deliveries have texted me. The very first time I got like 4 texts right when the guy dropped stuff off, but not since then. They also don’t email until about 20 min. after the delivery.

They never ring at our house. I always get a text shortly before and after delivery.

When I looked at the status of my WF order recently, I figured that when the driver is on their way with the order, there is a map that shows exactly where their car is at any given moment. It also says if your order is next to drop off or there are additional stops on the driver’s way.

Not true, they email to confirm, when ready, when about to deliver and if enter your number they text you! You must be thinking of someplace else!

They aren't supposed to ring the doorbell anymore (no contact). They send a photo instead.

I get deliveries from P Street 2-3 times per week and have never had a photo of a delivery. I get a text and then an email for customer service feedback. Also they don't ring the doorbell.

OP here. They have been texting to ask about substitutions and then ringing the doorbell, for 8 weeks now. In fact, sometimes they ring the doorbell and then call me. This time it was just an email.

It's strange that it varies by store so much.

Thanks to everyone who jumped on me, DCUM going strong in times of Covid, lol.

OP again. Interesting. Is this linked from their emails?

That is just bizarre. I've never not had a photo and today was the first no-ring drop off.

they ring if you have alcohol as you have to sign for it! Glad you can see how they are not in the wrong! Also it depends what you have checked in your box, drop off or signature (doesn't say that but something else) once by mistake I unchecked and then knocked. If you don't respond after they text/email you then they will sometimes take a photo to protect themselves, so that you don't complain that they didn't deliver as many deliveries get stolen. Check your profile and recheck before you order. You're welcome and come back again : /
