Are they not giving refunds? I would fight for it. It’s not fair to families who prepaid. |
many families are outraged. So they sent a survey asking about distance learning and are just now thinking of implementing it as if 30 minutes of zoom calls is equivalent to 6-8 hours of actual montessori learning. |
Franklin parent here. I didn't interpret that survey to be about distance learning, but rather logistics of reopening. I have no idea how ANY school will navigate this, to be honest, but that survey was much broader than distance learning. There are certainly things to complain about, but I really don't envy the folks in charge - lots of impossible decisions to make. |
Outraged my foot. Lol calm down people |
families are pissed. a lot of people will not pay full price or be able to take part in distance learning. if they take your money it's theft. families will walk but maybe that's what they need to reduce class size for phase 2. |
For the people that are paying month to month, there's a really easy solution. Just stop paying. I doubt that any preschool contract is enforceable in these circumstances, thus I doubt that they would come after you for tuition.
For the people that paid in advance in a lump sum, I feel for them. Like others have said in this thread, bird in the hand is everything in this situation. |
You see Franklin trying to open up in June? Lmao |
Huh? |
How much does Franklin charge by month? There is a lot of money to be prepaid in advance. |
An arm and a leg. They trying to open and we are not in phase 1 yet |
The Gan is doing the exact same thing. All parents have now paid for tuition through the end of the school year when school has been closed since March.
It’s unethical for these preschools to expect parents to subsidize teachers salaries when they are not providing child care and the teachers could collect enhanced unemployment or look for other work. The lack of transparency around this is shameful. |
What is the GAn? |
Franklin = FOR PROFIT. Not good for the consumer or teacher. |
