Seriously? Rory is one of the most entitled, stuck-up brats on TV in my opinion, especially in the later seasons. Lorelai isn't exactly a peach either. She uses men left and right. |
On the cheesy side: Highway to heaven Touched by an angel When calls the heart (although irl one of the stars committed fraud) On working together and/or giving constructive feedback: Jim Henson’s creature shop challenge British baking show In debt to us part Queer eye Subtle commentary on manners: A&E pride and prejudice Most Jane Austen adaptations except for the latest Emma and the Keira knightly P&P For fun: the muppet show |
Touched by an Angel and shows from the past, my day
Looking forward to the new “Who wants to be a Millionaire “ |
Oh, pipe down. It's a lovely series. It's not Hallmark, but it's not the trash of so much stuff that's on tv now. Shows need a someone doing bad acts so that another character can be shown to be doing the right thing. |
Not to debate, but I love love loved the Keira Knightly adaption of P&P. |
British reality shows like this:

You do you. I personally hate Gilmore Girls and think that Rory and Lorelai are terrible role models for girls and women. They both act like they always need a man. I also can't stand how they both almost always get what they want (usually after throwing a massive hissy fit). |
An aside- I showed my kids The Brady Bunch the other day and I was surprised how often they call each other "dumb" and "stupid". |
It's a movie, but "The Straight Story."
As for TV, Family Ties Our House Cosby Show (if you can get past it). Full House/Fuller House Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist and, of course The Golden Girls And maybe Facts of Life. |
I had the same experience with Family Ties. The youngest is a major brat. |
Agree with Friday Night Lights. There is a lot of humanity in that show. |
Is that a good show? I have it in my Hulu queue because it look appealing, but I never hear anyone mention it. |
It’s good. I’d also add vicar of dibley. |
DEF those. Brooklyn 911 and Good Place, too. There are flawed characters on all those shows but they are SUPER big hearted. (I think I like Mike Schur shows a lot.) Perhaps Psych, too? It seems like a strange thing to say about a show where murders are being solved every week, but the show is populated by fundamentally decent people. |
