AOS maths is definitely extremely rigorous, specially for 9th graders from middle school. |
It is rigorous, but I think the difficulty is overstated, except maybe for students who have not had geometry. A lot of the material is worked on in class, and there is lots of repeated topics from 8th grade. At AOS, the most difficulty appears to be science with these long lab reports. |

They don't offer AP calculus until 11th grade, so it would be tough to include AP Precalculus in 9th grade, especially since this includes many kids who have only taken geometry and not algebra 2. Some kids have only taken algebra 1. |
