DD is offered AET IT pathway. I am looking at the AET courses for 9th grade, it is very intense, especially Math, is it supposed to be this way.. Any inputs from AET parents is appreciated.
I think they are overstating the difficulty level of the math course. They do not get calculus until 11th grade, so only some precalculus topics are covered. A decent amount of trigonometry, but not deep into all the identities.
AOS maths is definitely extremely rigorous, specially for 9th graders from middle school.
It is rigorous, but I think the difficulty is overstated, except maybe for students who have not had geometry. A lot of the material is worked on in class, and there is lots of repeated topics from 8th grade. At AOS, the most difficulty appears to be science with these long lab reports.
